ABOUT US
The Tauranga Classic Motorcycle Club was formed in 1976, making us the second longest-running classic motorcycle club in New Zealand. The primary purpose of the club is to foster the preservation and enjoyment of Classic motorcycles.

What makes a Classic? That’s a good question and one that was robustly disputed in many classic motorcycle and car clubs around the country in the 80’s and 90’s. In those days, a classic was typically a British, European or American machine with a certain indefinable mystique. Fortunately, most all clubs have now settled on a rolling 25 year old rule, with Japanese manufactured machines now featuring more prominently.

Along with classic machines, many of our members have modern bikes that are utilised on our more informal weekday or longer distance rides.

The club rides and functions give members the opportunity to:

-
Socialise on a regular basis through club meetings and functions.
-
Enjoy a weekly coffee morning at a local cafe where everyone is welcome to join in the conversation.
-
Participate in our annual rally. Fellow classic riders from around the country join and share over a long weekend event.
-
Join monthly rides, usually of a shorter duration, suitable for older bikes and ones of smaller displacement.
-
Participate in regular weekly rides, typically in the BOP / Waikato / Coromandel areas. These rides cover greater distances and encompass a lunch stop.
-
Enjoy combined multi-day rides to other regions club rallies.
-
Experience the camaraderie during overnight trips organised throughout the year.

Tauranga Classic Motorcycle Club own clubrooms in the heart of Mount Maunganui, a central locaation for most members. Our monthly club meetings are held here and our monthly runs typically assemble here.
